Jill was just shy of 40 with 3 kids when she was suddenly diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and was 100 pounds overweight.

Without any surgery, Jill courageously got her life back in order by loosing the weight and even went on to enter the Mrs. Idaho pageant.

We heard from so many of her friends that she is a truly wonderful and inspiring person inside and out that we thought it would be fun if we could get her to come on a conference call so you can ask her any questions that you might have!

Out of 16 Beautiful Amazing Woman I got in the Top 6. It was a wonderful weekend and I had so much fun. I also got an award for the most years married. Ron and I loved getting this award!!

I felt honored to have gotten to know so many wonderful woman and again
get to know even more about myself.
On April 22nd I celebrated reaching a goal of 100 pounds of weight loss. Reaching this goal right before the pageant was wonderful! I thank my sponsor and wonderful trainer Rebecca Carington for getting me in the best shape I have ever been in. You are not only my trainer you are such a wonderful friend!

The weekend started on Thursday with a rehearsal to learn the opening number and then dinner with all of the contestants where we had secret sister gift exchange. Today we practiced our opening number and went over walking patterns. Tonight we had our interviews with the judges. It has been a blast so far. Tomorrow we start our day off with rehearsal then our dress rehearsal followed by the pageant. It will be one fun day. I can't wait.
Well, I better get some sleep. Have a great weekend.
I am dedicating my pageant night to all 8 of my mothers. I have learned something from each one of them and feel so blessed to have been able to have so many Mothers love me. :-)

Happy 39th Birthday Ron!! He is catching up to me. We had a great weekend celebrating Ron's Birthday along with Easter. We took him out to the Movies between soccer games and we also had a Movie night at home after I spoke to a crowd at anytime fitness. I think this was Ron's first time seeing me speak. Anyway we all had a great weekend and were able to spend some enjoyable time together. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. :-)

We got some really sad new's this morning. Or Grandpa passed away.

It's Ron's Grandpa but through the years he has become my Grandpa as well and is the only one I have ever had on earth. We will miss him dearly. He was a great man who we loved very much. Telling the kids was hard and are very sad about the news.
I know it was his time to go and he will meet up with his dear wife Mary and My wonderful Mother in-law Sharon. We will sure Miss you Grandpa Galbraith.

I had to take back a black and white pokadot dress I had bought and replace it with this one. Not only was it much cuter but it will make a memory in my heart each time I where it.

I was so happy I was able to wear BSU gear. They are my favorite team and I have fallen hard for the first time in my life for a football team.

Karcher Mall is one of my Sponsors. I felt so blessed after the manager at Karcher heard my story on having diabetes and now being an advocate asked if she could have a fashion show a few weeks before the pageant. I was tickled to say yes.
I called our director to talk about it and it was a big YES! One of my favorite things to do about 20 yrs ago was to do runway modeling. I realize this puts my age out there but I don't mind saying I am almost 42. I have always loved being on stage.
Having many opportunities since age 12 to do runway I found it to be something I really enjoyed. Having my kids at the fashion show was another plus. They have heard about that part of my life and have seen pictures. To see first hand my 3 kids smiling at me as I smiled back was priceless. My husband Ron enjoyed the fashion show also as I married him after I hung up my dancing and modeling shoes and became a medical assistant for a OBGYN Dr. It was a great day. At the end I was able to thank everyone for coming and talk a little about how diabetes has touched my life. Thank you Karcher Mall, Pro-Image, Burlington Coat factory and Christopher and Banks for having us apart of the fun.

I can’t believe 1 yr ago today I broke my ankle. Now that I look back time has gone by pretty fast. I remember that snowy day like yesterday. I had my son Bryson in his car seat ready to go to Costco to pick something for the Wed night’s Young woman night. I was walking to the mail box and down I fell from slipping on the black ice underneath the snow.

I still cringe remembering the loud pop my ankle made on the way down. I could not believe I just fell. It was cold and no one was around. I remember feeling like NO one is going to ever find me out here. I started yelling. It was so sad. I said can anyone here me. I called out to Ginger across the street. No response from anyone.

It started snowing pretty hard and I thought I should try to move my body towards the garage. I tried to apply pressure to my leg and it was as if it was dead. It did not move an inch. I started to pull my body and what seem to take along time I finally made my way in the garage and put my back right against my van. I could not call 911 or anyone because my phone was in my van. Bryson started to cry saying mommy are you ok? I felt so bad I just kept telling him mommy fell but everything is going to be OK.

Finally about 15 minute after I had fell my neighbor drove by and said what happened. I told her and she called 911. The Fire men showed up and I remember them saying do you have a friend you could call to take you to the hospital. I said yes. I called Jena Lott who I worked with in the young woman’s program at church. She came as fast as she could and took me to mercy hospital. We waited for about 1 hr maybe even longer to see the Dr.

To make a very long story shorter it took a total of 9 months for the Tibia bone to heal all the way through. 2008 was one of the toughest years of my life. To all the many people that gave so much to me and my family in our time of need a big Thank you! I am so grateful the 2009 has started off so well. I am also happy to be able to do most things including having a decent workout, Just no running well, only for Mrs. Idaho. LOL

Madison got a award at school today. She was so excited about this all week.
I am so happy for her.

I got to spend some time in her classroom after and take some pictures. Next week she is student of the week so I get to go eat lunch with her at school. I am also very proud of Mason and Madison for receiving the perfect attendance award last year. They also have received an award for each month this year. They both are really trying to have another successful year of perfect attendance.
It's nice being able to share in great moments like this with our kids. :-)

Mason hit the Jackpot. He has been talking about getting a Motor as he has called it since age 6. it's all the time we have spent at Uncle Bill's and Aunt Pam's. Well his dream came true on Christmas!!

I love the kids being home from school and just hanging out doing fun things with them. I wish the Holiday's did not go so fast. We had a wonderful Christmas and I feel so blessed to have such a great chain of friends and family to celebrate with. We sure miss our family in CA, AZ, FL and NY. We sure hope to be making some trips to see Our Cousins as Mason says.

First he was my little man. My Mason man as I called him.

He was my first child and was very hard to get here. After 2 miscarriages and a hard 36 hour labor I was so happy to see those beautiful blue eyes. Now my Mason is 11 today and what a nice young man he is.

I feel so blessed to be his mother. I sure love him. Happy Birthday Mason Man as I still call him.

What a great Thanksgiving we had. We had our good friends Amy & Rob and their kids Scotty and Lacy over for Thanksgiving. It was so nice having their sweet family over. Amy brought some of the food so it made for one nice Thanksgiving. The dinner was awesome. After dinner we were able to hear Madison sing for us and then we played games until late. I am so grateful for great friends.
We have truly found some in Amy & Rob.

Halloween Fun! The kids sure had a fun year. We had a big ward party Haloween Carnival on the 29th and than trick or treating which is always fun for them. I don't think Madison will ever be anything else except a princess. This year as you can see she was Bell. Mason loved being a BSU football player espically since we have BYU fever. Bryson wore the Same clown outfit that my sister made for Mason. I love that outfit and it was fun to see it get passed down.

The Brady Bunch was my favorite show growing up. I remember knowing the time it was on and if home from dance lesson's in time I would always run to the T.V and turn it on and watch the show. I wanted to be just like Marsha Brady. I remember after watching or when a friend was over we would go in our dance room my father built that had mirrors on every wall and practice being Marsha especially if it was one of their music numbers. For hours I could just put my thumb to my mouth and practice until I had it right. Those were the days. I loved that dance room it meant the world to me when my dad added that on to our home.

Wait before you click I just have to share something. In the 14 +years we have been married we have only had dial up. 2 weeks ago we finally got DSL. Has anyone else gone as long as we have without DSL? I am still amazed about what you can do with DSL. I am glad we waited so long because now I have to discipline the time I spend on the Internet but It has been so fun!!!
We will never get the dish or cable if I have anything to do with it. We as a family would not do well with that for sure.

What a Beautiful Day it was
The sun was shining and Madison was beaming with Joy! She has been excited about this day this whole past year. She has spoke of how important it is to her to get
the spirit of the holy ghost.
The spirit present and we were so proud of Madison to make the choice to be baptised. She is such a special daughter of god and we feel very privileged to have her in our home and be her parents.

July 16th we got to go on a walk through of the Idaho Twin Falls Temple. It was beautiful and it was nice to see our kids go through and enjoy all the beauty. Summer is now over and that was our last family outing for awhile. It's back to school,soccer and dance lessons.

This has been one of the best summers for us as far as camping goes. Ron has been able to get some Fridays off so we have done allot of camping. I love camping because there is no TV no game boys and just time with your family enjoying the outdoors and each other. We have all had a great summer starting with the Alaskan Cruise and all of the weekend camp outs. We have bonded more and gotten closer as a family and for that I love summer. I am sad summer is coming to an end so fast. I love having the kids out of school and will miss Mason and Madison when they go back to school. I am also a bit fearful of winter coming as it sits in my mind that it has been 33 weeks since I broke my ankle and I am still healing. Above our a few pictures of the last 2 camping trips.

Sweet Matthew

My dear friend Lanette's 2 year old passed away on July 18th. My heart aches for her and her husband Jeff. I can't get my mind off of them as a family. I know they will see him again in the here after but life as they know it has totally changed. I said a prayer today for our father above to give them comfort. I love Lanette and hate to see her hurt. She is a great mom and I know she loved her sweet Matthew so much.

We went camping at the most beautiful camping spot. I can't take credit, My friends Leroy and Tracy who also live across the street found this spot.
We had a great time. Mini Beach, Hiking, Campfire, and just a great time with family and friends. This is a spot I will have to have Ron take us back to for sure.

5th Annual 4th Of July Block Party

What a great party!! From Great food,Water ballons,Water Slide,Sparklers and fireworks it turned out to be another sucessful block party. We loved visiting and enjoying the beautiful weather. The kids had a blast and I think each year the kids really look forward to this day and to see them have so much fun brought me much joy. This day will make a great memory for along time or at least until next year.

Bryson was the hit of the night when the comic/juggler called Bryson to the stage to help him out with his act. Bryson was all personality and totally cute.

The Cruise to Alaska was one of the best trips I have ever taken.

Alaska was breath taking, relaxing, and what a ton of food. A restaurant 3 maybe 4 times a day for 7 days. Now that is service. I was done with the whole eating thing by the 6th day and haven’t been hungry ever since. The kids had blast lots of fun activities and Mason went to town eating and eating and eating more.

Even I could not believe the amount of food this boy packed away.

Madison’s nick name on the ship by crew members was Escargot as she had tons of them and loved each and every bite. Bryson was called the little star as he got called to the stage during one of the best acts of the ships entertainment. Ron enjoyed the food and the total stress free environment. 10 days away from work. He was a happy camper. I did not want to get off the ship. I was so relaxed and everyone was so catered to that I did not want to go home and think what I am going to cook for dinner?
Well, as you can see from the pictures it was a very memorable vacation for all of us. Hope your start to summer was as fun. Love, Jill

Duck Tape Diaper.

My friend Lauralynn came by when Bryson was in his diaper with duck tape on it. She laughed and said you have to take a picture and put it on your blog page.

Poor Bryson was getting potty trained when I broke my ankle and since I could not follow through with finishing the teaching I had to put him back in diapers. Now he pulls his diaper off and just pees where ever he wishes. I try saying go to your potty chair but without being able to go up and down stairs quickly it just has not worked out. One day I was talking to my friend Erica on the phone and she said well just duck tape it on him until you get better. So here he is with his duck taped diaper on.

I have been getting lot's of phone calls wondering about my most recent appt to the DR. I thought I would update through my blog and let everyone know what's going on.

First, I want to thank everyone who has added a comment to my post, sweet thoughtful e-mails and endless calls to see how I am doing. Also flowers,plants,gifts,dinners,books, yummy treats,,house cleaning, laundry, help with taking Bryson for a play day, Taking my kids for play days and to the Zoo over spring break, card's in the mail, and a ton of visits from friends. I am grateful I am so lucky to have so many people in my life that care.

It's been a long tough road.

I fell on Jan 29th it's now April 12th. I had surgery and originally prior to surgery the Dr. said he would be putting a plate on my Fibula where I broke in two places which he did. He also said he would be putting screw's in my tibia because it was such a bad brake. As he says "you broke almost to the core of your bone". Amazingly enough when he put the plate on the fibula the tibia bone aligned and there for I did not need any hardware on the tibia. Ok this is all good because I only have one piece of hardware in me and only one scare. The downside is I am still healing and the tibia bone is one of the hardest bones in the body to heal. It takes along time . I am just today for the first time able to start putting 40% of my body weight with my crutches on my leg. 3 x a day up to 15 min at a time. I was so bummed when I saw my Dr. yesterday and he said I'm sorry I can't give you

better news but I will see you back on May 20th.

Total Bummer. Are you kidding me? I was waiting to hear him say you can start physical therapy, you can start waking and graduate from crutches, wheelchair and being off of your leg. In other words you get your life back. Well, I did not hear what I wanted, but I did start therapy today because of all the other pains, neck,hip and shoulder pain due to the prolonged time I have been on crutches. I have the type of Ins that The Dr does not need to write a RX to have therapy so it was refreshing going to the physical therapy office today and get started on my road to recovery. It looks like I will be in

my walking cast on my cruise this June 6th.

Now that is a bummer, But it's a cruise and much needed cruise and even if in a walking cast hopefully by than I will be closer to getting off crutches and more able to be walking on my walking cast. One other bummer is that it is my right foot so I still wont be able to drive until we get back from the cruise. It's hard having to get rides to Physical therapy and other places but like I said before I am thankful for everyone who has helped out

and has gotten me where I need to go.

Well, There you have it. I still don't go on-line often as I have gotten out of the habit but I have read a ton of good books and have enjoyed that part of my healing process.

I won't be on-line much in the next 5 weeks. :-( I took a big fall last Tuesday and broke my leg in 3 places. I slipped in the snow as I was taking some mail to the mail box. I had Bryson in his car seat ready to make a quick run to costco. I said Brsyon I am just going to the mail box and I will be right back. I wasn't right back. No one was around when I fell. I was in so much pain yelling hoping a neighbor would hear me. No luck. About 10 to 15min had past when finally someone drove by. she called 911 ran and got my friend to take Bryson and stayed with me until the paramedics showed up. They thought I tore a tendon I heard something pop on my way down when they told me I broke in 3 places i fell apart.
To shorten the story, I had to have surgery and spend the night in the hospital. Ron & the kids Waite on me hand and foot and I want to be up not down.
Call me if you want to keep me company. I don't go on-line very often.

My Sunbeam and Snow!

Today was Bryson's first day of Sunbeams. I can't believe he is in the big room now. He looked so small but, sooooooo cute. I peaked in on him a few times. He was having so much fun.
We had a nice snow fall so we decided to get out there and spend sometime making a snowman. The kids had a blast and were proud to display our hard work.

What made for an eventful New Years Eve day was I cut my finger open with a lid while opening a can. I passed out so I can not even give all details of what happen. All I do know is one minute I was opening a can and next thing I woke up on the floor with the lid still in my finger.

Gross!!! Big time.

Blood was everywhere and all I could think about is cleaning this mess up before Mason gets home. I kept thinking he will get home see blood and no mom and think I am dead.

I know I was in shock and not thinking clearly because I felt no pain but the bleeding would not stop. Mason and Madison were both at friends homes and Bryson was down for a nap. I was feeling pretty crummy by this point, but had gotten everything cleaned up. I than took Bryson and we drove to the urgent care center.

I got their and the nurse said how did you get here? I told her I drove myself. I was taken right back as blood was continuing to poor out of my finger.

They asked me all kinds of questions. I did not have a coat on and it was only 29degrees today. She than proceeded to ask me how I was feeling. You do not look so well she said. Do you need something to throw up in just in case? I said no, I just have a headache.

Bryson was getting really restless. I was glad to get a call from Ron telling he was on his way. Ron took Bryson just as I was getting back into see the Dr. The timing was perfect. I was seen and told I will need about 5 stitches as I did cut a few of my nerve endings. I told the Dr. that would be fine but I have a New Years Eve party to go to and really don't want to miss.
He said no problem. Your finger my be a bit sore once the numbness wears off but I will give you a few pain pills to get you by. I got to pick the color of my bandage so I picked Madison's favorite color Purple. I was so glad we were able to attend the party. My friend Rosalyn has great parties and tonight was one of the best yet. The kids had a babysitter. They made Sundas. They stayed up until midnight said Happy New Year and Bryson fell asleep shortly after the party. He looked so cute I had to take a picture.

Christmas Morning!

It was nice having Ron home on Christmas Eve Day. We spent the day hanging out and than we went to the Movies and saw the Chipmunk movie. (Very Cute)!
When we got home we just enjoyed each other and than popped in the Movie the Nativity Story. I loved it and it had me brought to tears throughout the movie. If you have not seen this movie its a must. It was so nice to feel the spirit of the true meaning of Christmas. Off to bed for the kids and Ron and I just did some cleaning before we went to bed. It was a early wake up call as the kids said Santa came come on. We rolled out of bed and began our morning. It's so fun to see the kids faces on Christmas Morning. We had about 1 hr of opening gifts everyone was so happy with what was given to them. We than ate mom's yummy : sausage egg casserole that I actually make the night before and put in the oven while we are opening gifts then when that's over Breakfast is ready. We had a wonderful day so far. We will be heading over to my dads tonight for Christmas dinner. We hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas.

Our First Snow!!

This really is our first Snow!! We were just getting ready to go out to eat when it started to snow.

Everyone was so excited as last year we really got no snow. It was crisp air and everything was white. When we got home we played in the snow and just took in the fresh air. If it sticks this may be our first white Christmas in many many years.

Mason works so hard in scouting. He got 14 arrow awards. I was so proud of him. He also received his bear award. Ron got his Eagle and I am sure Mason will do the same as he really enjoys scouting.

It was Mason's Birthday Party Today! OK now!!! I have to say it was so much fun for all who came. We had it at our local Recreation Center. First, everyone went swimming. Than time to eat cake and open gifts. They ended on the note of playing Basket Ball. Mason is an awesome guy. At the Easter egg pool hunt her at the Rec Center Mason found the golden egg which had in it a punch pass. The lady told Mason there was a number of ways he could use his pass. He could come to the Rec Center anytime he wanted to during the summer and even bring along friends or she said you could save it for a Birthday and invite 21 people. He picked saving it for a big party and has been saving it 8 mo. I was so proud of him as it saved us allot of Money and it allowed him to invite each and every friend he has. He really had a great day. It will be a party he never forgets. Happy Birthday Mason Man.. :-)

Family Fun...

OK, the race is on. This was a first for us. We decided to take our family and go cut down our own Christmas tree. Trying to find a perfect tree was not an easy task. We did not really know how hard it would really be. Tooo big! Tooo Small! Ugggggg! We hiked up the mountain with everyone searching for a tree. Many were just too big. The sun started going down as the hunt was still on. Just as the sun was leaving and the moon was coming Ron literally fell down the hill on the tree we were to take home. They worked fast and got it in the back of he truck. It was nice and I was glad we ended up finding one. The kids were getting a little grumpy and everyone was excited to head home for some homemade Chili, more pumpkin pie and warm Apple Cider. For sure I would do this adventure again. Everyone had fun and it will make for a great family memory. :-)

Ron’s father, Step Mother, Sis Rebekah and Brother Bobby came out for Thanksgiving.First we had a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner at My Step Mother’s home that she grew up in, In Boise.
Friday she had to get back to CA but everyone else came to our home and had fun Watching Christmas Movies, Drinking Apple Cider and just enjoying each other’s Company.

Our Family Trip

We took a 4 day trip to Utah. What a great trip we had. First we headed for a BYU game, and yes they WON!!! The kids had a blast and we did to. Ron really enjoyed being there.

Than we did the temple squre trip which was really a great for our family to go all together. We than got to go to the BSU game against Utah State. Yes We WON!! Gooooooooooo Broncos.

It felt like it was 80 degrees and we were enjoying the warmth with an iceeee. The kids loved this part and I said Ron what a great idea it took them forever to eat them and kept everyone happy and quiet. :-) We than on the way home went to twin falls and saw some beautiful falls. We even were feet from a deer. It was a much needed great get away.

Halloween was so much fun. First trunk or treat at the middle school than Mason and Madison headed out with Dad to do the house to house adventure. I never saw so much candy. Uggggg!! I stayed home to hand out candy. There were so many cute kids that came by. At a warm 50 degrees everyone was happy.

Our dear friend Jon Snively served in the Iraq War. When he got home it was a day of celebration with news coverage and the works. He had a garage sale and was selling some of his army gear. Oh coarse he gave Ron a great deal and so Ron went to town. We had a great time dressing up ourselves and the kids and taking pix. Anyway, we love our friend Jon and all the men and woman who serve our country and appreciate all they do.

1. was just about to Pop pregnant with Mason.
2. Ron was in school and we were living in the San Fernando valley. .Loved my ward loved my friends.
3. Loved going to 24 hour fitness even in the middle of the night. it was just the best get away.
4. Was teaching in the primary and have been in primary ever since except with a small break in 2000 I went to young woman's. And in 2006 Activities committee now back in young woman's happy to say so. Although I do love primary.
5. Was still working as a Medical Asst: for Dr. Eder at OBGYN Aff. until Mason came in Dec. I loved that Job.

Bryson is so funny. We go to church from 1 to 4pm which makes it so hard on him. He is so tierd by the time we get home in eat he falls alseep. We have Taco Sunday each week and we all look forward to Sunday. He just can't seem to stay awake the whole meal through.

Ron,Mason,Uncle Bill and Cousin Sam got to go to an Angel baseball game. He was so happy was able to go to the game and the Angles won that night which was a added plus.

Madison and I stayed home with Aunt Pam and I was able to give her and Madison a personal spa. She loved it and was so thankful. I was glad I was able to have her relax and enjoy herself.

This was taken at Great America Theam Park in CA. During our summer vacation. We went with our Aunt Pam and Uncle Bill who we love to go see. We stayed at their home for a week. We went Camping and Tubing with my Uncl Bill's boat. What a blast we had. The kids love going to their home because they are the sweetest people and have lot's of fun things for the kids to do. They have a Pool,Go-Carts and my uncle has a Harley!! Now that's when the fun begins is when I get to go on my outing on the back of his harley with him. I love the trip because I have late night talks with my sweet aunt and I really enjoy and love her. Uncle Bill is Sharon Ron's Mom's brother. :-)

Loosing Sharon had to be one of the hardest days of my life. 8-10-2003. She was one of my dearest friends. She will always hold a very special place in my heart. I know how hard of a time Ron had also and Mason was very sad. Madison very young was also sad. Having Sharon as her middle name has really kept her close and always wanting to know more about Grandma Sharon. She was a very special Woman,Mom and Grandma to us all.

It was a Beautiful Summer day in Sunny CA. Allot of my friends and family came for our big day. Many hopes and dreams were ahead for a bright future. Having just lost my mother, Uncle and dear friend Aaron made for a very tough start but 14 yrs later I have to say It was all worth the stress and heartache. 3 kids later we are living in Idaho where we have many friends and a great ward. I have my father across town and really enjoy being able be be so close to him. I love Idaho and have become very found of Idaho living.
